Guided Ancestral Tours

Walk in your ancestors’ footsteps and reconnect with your Slovenian roots
Step into the past with a private, custom-designed tour of your ancestral homeland. Whether visiting your ancestors’ birthplace, family homes, cemeteries, or local churches, this experience offers a deeply personal journey into your heritage—guided with care, insight, and historical expertise.
Drawing on extensive experience since 2004 leading visitors through museums and historic sites, I create unique heritage tours that blend family history with authentic Slovenian landscapes and culture.
How It Works
Consultation: A guided ancestral tour starts with a consultation to review any family tree or family stories you may already have. Together, we define the places you’d like to visit and shape a personalized itinerary, which can include ancestral homes, churches, cemeteries, local landmarks, or meetings with relatives when possible.
Duration: Most tours are private day trips visiting up to four significant sites. Multi-day tours are recommended if your roots span several regions, allowing more time for exploration and deeper insights.
What You Get: Each tour is custom-built around your family history and includes itinerary planning, contact with local people, property owners, or potential relatives, and guiding at chosen locations. Short research is carried out to confirm historical addresses, as house numbers in Slovenia often changed after 1945. Photo documentation is available on request.
Pricing: The daily rate is €450 and covers all planning, communication, and on-site guiding. Additional costs may apply for travel expenses (€0.43/km), extended genealogical research, or preliminary visits to locations if required. Clients are always informed in advance about any extra charges.
